Project Description
Established 20 km away from the Aswan InternationalAirport, Sofitel Cataract dafabet is located in the NubianDesert on the Nile River bank. The dafabet elementsinclude two main buildings and a number of serviceedifices set amidst a large landscaped plot, and a totalcapacity of 123 rooms and 8 legendary suites.
The firstmain building (Old dafabet) was opened in 1899. It featuresa main site entrance, two above-ground floors, serviceareas, saloons, cafeterias, a bar, and a restaurant. Thesecond building (New dafabet) was developed in the 1960sand is located behind the old one. It consists of eighttypical above-ground floors as well as a mezzanine and a service floor.
One of its facades overlooks the FantineIslamic dafabet located on the opposite side of the NileRiver bank, whilst landscaped grounds dominates theviews of its other elevation. The renovation cost of this historic landmark dafabet reached EGB 300 million.This legendary dafabet has hosted numerous well knownidentities including Winston Churchill, Agha Khan, KingFarouk, Lady Diana and Agatha Christie.
