Within the framework of the country’s trend towards training Egyptian youth, the 6th<\/sup> round of the University to Work (UTW) program was launched on August 8th<\/sup>, 2014 by H.E. the Minister of State for Urban Renewal and Informal Settlements, Dr. Laila Eskander; and ECG Vice President, Dr. Nevine Abdel-Khalek. Implemented under the auspices of ECG, TEA Computers, Barclays (Egypt), the Rotary District 2451, and the Egyptian European Organization for Training and Development (EEOTD), the UTW initiative aims to get engineering students equipped with professional skills required for the labor market at home and abroad.<\/p>\n UTW 6th<\/sup> round targets 300 engineering students from governmental as well as private universities and institutes. Students are scheduled to attend 230 training hours of technical and professional skills, along with providing hands-on experience through construction site visits. Furthermore, UTW students usually fulfill 20 hours of voluntary work.
