On 2 May 2017, a press conference was held at the Egyptian Businessmen’s Association to
announce the launch of University to Work (UTW) Round 9. During the press conference,
the UTW initiative was further corroborated through a number of Memoranda of Understanding
with Egyptian universities and higher education institutes. Other Memoranda of Understanding
were signed with a number of partner organizations (including the Egyptian Syndicate of Engineers
and other NGOs), and also with new corporate sponsors.<\/p>\n
During the event, ECG Vice President Dr. Nevine AbdelKhalek, Project Manager Ahmed Essawy,
and Project Manager Kamal Shawky briefed the attendees on certain advances made in the
UTW program. Examples include the UTW Portal and the Summer & Winter Institutes whose
academic activities focus on the conservation and restoration of heritage sites and historic
buildings.<\/p>\n
On her part, ASDA Sustainable Development Association President Dr. Dalia Sadany emphasized that UTW students can and should participate in international engineering design competitions. Dr. Seif Abul Naga of the International Union of Architects encouraged the idea of organizing a “Global Architecture Day” in cooperation with the UTW program.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
