Financed by Islamic Cooperation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), Jeddah-Saudi Arabia, Gulf Medical University is the first medical school in the region to offer admission to both males and females of all nationalities.
The university was established with the Decree No. 1 dated January 28, 1998 issued by His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid AlNuaimi, the Ruler of Supreme Council, UAE, as there was a felt need for a medical college in the United Arab Emirates.
