{"id":4948,"date":"2017-04-24T10:35:45","date_gmt":"2019-12-10T12:04:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ecgsa.com\/?project=fayoum-drinking-water-and-sanitation-project-phase-iv"},"modified":"2022-08-30T08:01:40","modified_gmt":"2022-08-30T08:01:40","slug":"fayoum-drinking-water-and-sanitation-project-phase-iv","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/www.ecgsa.com\/project\/fayoum-drinking-water-and-sanitation-project-phase-iv\/","title":{"rendered":"Fayoum Drinking Water and Sanitation Project Phase IV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The project&rsquo;s objective was to assist Fayoum Drinking Water &amp; Sanitation Company (FDWSC) in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improving its service delivery for water supply and sewerage to the entire population of Fayoum governorate<\/li>\n<li>Achieving the governorate recovery of operation and maintenance costs through a mix of technical assistance and investments<\/li>\n<li>Transferring the experiences and managerial tools gained in this project to fellow companies which face similar problems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>By the end of the project, 425,000 house connections (an increase of %40) were provided with continuously drinking water and 207,500 households (an increase of %200) were connected to a sewer. Project&rsquo;s main areas<br \/>of intervention are sanitation, drinking water, project management and consumer service.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Start up of new systems: planning and monitoring, social marketing, sewer connections, start up of the systems, sewer revolving fund and evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>Applying Proven O&amp;M Concepts in Water &amp;
